Brad a had a super last minute opportunity to go to Soldotna Alaska. Roman called on a Tuesday and they were to fly out that Thursday night at 11pm. He decided to go! So I went to pick up the kids in Albany and Brad headed to the airport. It was hard for him since we hadn't seen the kiddos in 10 days and he was going to gone for 7 more, but we decided that he wouldn't get this opportunity again.
They flew out of Portland and landed in Fairbanks the next morning. From there it was a 3 hour drive to Soldotna which is right on the Kenai River.
They spent most days...and night fishing for Sockeye Salmon.
They also made it in to Homer for a Halibut trip and a couple beers at the Salty Dog Saloon (From Deadliest Catch)
The ended up with almost 700 lbs. of fish and lots of great stories and pictures. There is even a chance that Brad might be able to go again next year.
YUM!!!
